Obstacles

Whenever I encounter obstacles in life, what usually works for me is a good logical approach. First, I think about the issue and about possible solutions. Next, I decide which of the solutions would be best. It's important to remember to take everything into account when choosing manners of dealing with the obstacle, and to think outside the box when coming up with them. The last important thing is following through and overcoming the obstacle with the chosen method.

Someone I look up to

A person that I look up to is one of my high school Spanish teachers. I was in his class for my junior and senior years, but I had known him before then. As a teacher, he was funny and enjoyable to be in class with, but at the same time, he taught well, inspired student interest in the material, and always tried hard to be the best at what he did. I also got to know him outside of class and discovered that he had a genuine interest in students' lives, cared immensely about the school and community, and tried to help out and get involved in any way possible. He is a role model for both teachers and students alike.

Introduction

Hey, my name is Kyle, and I'm one of the mentors this spring for MIT's Leadership Training Institute. I'm from Hudson, MA, not too far away from here. I'm in my second year of studying electrical engineering and computer science, and I hope to some day work in that field. In my free time, I enjoy running, painting, programming, and hanging out.

I'm looking forward to a great program this spring!
